Step onto Holy Ground
This is a place to worship the Lord our God To lift our beloved land, the United States of America, in prayer.
“Take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”
The phrase “holy ground” is in the Bible in both testaments:
- Old testament. Exodus 3:6. The area where God met Moses on Mount Sinai, God himself said was holy ground because of His presence there. God told Moses “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”
- In the new testament. Acts 6:33. Stephen details the history of the Israelites before the council and says “… and Moses trembled and did not dare to look. Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.’ “
The ground itself was not holy, only the presence of a Holy God made the area holy. As we gather together to pray in one spirit for our nation, God’s presence can be here also.
I welcome your comments and your own prayers also.
