Time Does Pass Quickly

Yesterday was my Mother-in-Law’s 90th birthday.  She is doing very well for being 90.  She walks better than I do and her mind is still active and pretty sharp.

Mel and I took her out for dinner last night to celebrate her special day. We took her to Cracker Barrel because there are lots of veggies for her to choose from as well as soups.

Esther is a lady that truly loves the Lord and I know where she will be heading when her life is over here.  She has had a long life, but not all of us are granted 90 years here on earth.  My own parents only lived until they were 67 and then passed.  I won’t see them again until I see them in heaven.

The Bible says in Matthew 7:

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.”

I took a Bible study once that referred to this verse and stated that it meant most people would not enter heaven; they would be choosing the wide gate that many enter.

That statement hit me like a ton of bricks.  Just thinking that most of the people around me would be going to a place of darkness, away from the Lord and all that is good, is so sad.

We need to pray fervently for our family, co-workers, friends, and neighbors.  Our nation is so in need of prayer for repentance and mercy.

My Prayer Today

Lord, I come to you today with sadness in my heart and fear for those around me who are lost and dying and missing out on being with You in eternity.  I pray Lord for the souls of my family and friends who are not Your children and who do not follow after Your Son, Jesus.  I pray You will send your Holy Spirit to convict them of their need for You.  I pray they will turn from the ways and temptations of this world and ask for forgiveness and seek after You with all their hearts.

Lord, I pray for a great revival across our nation.  We are so in need of You and Your Holy Spirit working in our lives and in our society.  Please Lord, forgive us our iniquities and our love of the things of this world and please work in the hearts of the peoples of this land, convicting them of their need for You and Your wonderful gift of salvation through Jesus, our Savior.

Lord I especially lift up the leaders of our nation today as they perform the duties of their jobs in making decisions for our health, economy, and protection of this nation.  I pray for those that call on Your name and claim You as Lord of their lives – that they will seek your will in making the decisions for our nation.

I pray for the decisions on health care for our peoples, that You will be in that decision and guide our leaders with Your wisdom.

I pray for the issues with North Korea also, that You will give President Trump and our military leaders the right decisions to make in dealing with that country and its leader.

I pray for the economic problems and the enormous debt our nation is undergoing; please help our leaders make the right choices about regulations, budgets,  taxes and trade agreements that will help with these issues.

I pray for our President, Mr. Trump and our Vice-President, Mr. Pence and for the entire cabinet and workers in this administration.  I pray You will reach out and call them unto Yourself, convicting them of their need for You to be Lord of their lives and guide of every action and decision they make as leaders in our land. I ask for Your protection over their health and that of their families.  I pray You will protect each of them from the evil attacks of the Adversary.  I pray also that You will keep Your mighty hand of protection over our land and our resources.

May many of the peoples of our land repent of their sins against You and turn to You, accepting Your free gift of mercy and life eternal.  May a love of Your word and a desire to read, study and follow Your precepts fill their hearts and their minds.  I pray all this in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

My Prayer on Super Bowl Sunday

As American all across this country, prepare to sit back, relax, eat and enjoy the traditional Super Bowl football game, our nation continues to be attacked from within.  Many of our own misguided citizens, those who live in darkness and ignorance of a Holy and loving God, continue to promote their ungodly and evil ideas.  Many of our wealthiest citizens, those who have acquired their great wealth by living in this land of freedom and opportunity, fund evil organizations and violent ones whose objectives are to destroy the American way of life and the rights of conservatives and Christians who live in this land.  Many persons who have taken advantage of our open borders and weak former President are even now plotting to destroy our infrastructure and our peoples.  They will not be satisfied until every non-Muslim is killed in the most horrible manner and all references to the Living God of the Bible, are removed from our land, our laws, our history and our media.

So people, just continue to sit back in your comfy recliners and watch the game on your big screens, eating junk food and have a great time with your friends and family.

As for me, tonight I will be on my knees praying for my family, my state, my President, his administration, my church, my nations, my freedoms and my great Christian family here in the U.S.  My heart is heavy as I read about so many of my fellow citizens who live in darkness, being manipulated and controlled by the evil “lord of this world”, Satan and his demons.  These, my neighbors and fellow citizens, live without the hope of an eternal soul and an eternal life, not to even mention the hope of spending an eternity with a loving and holy God. What to Pray For Today?

Its been several days since I’ve posted my prayer for our nation so I’ll be catching up on some things I need to pray for.  Of course I’ll be praying for our nations new administration and the new President and his team, the safety of our nation and its citizens, the prosperity of our nation and its citizens, the faith of our Christian believers across the nation and the salvation of the non-believers who live in darkness without hope of an eternity with God.

First, A Praise

Last night, my husband and I were watching a documentary on the 1980 incident at the Titan 2 silo site in Damascus, Arkansas.  I would have been in my late 20’s and he in his early 30’s.  I really can’t remember anything of the incident.  At that age, I was so focused on my activities and my coaching and sports, I paid no attention to news and watched very little TV.  After watching the documentary, I now realize how close Arkansas came to being eradicated completely by a nuclear explosion.  That would have been the end of us, all due to a simple tool dropping accident.

As I think on this, I am so thankful for a loving God that protected me and many, many others from an awful fate.  Our God is so good and so loving and so powerful, He is worthy of my praise and my worship.  As I continue to think on this, giving Him my praise, I also wonder what would God do now if another incident happened.  Our society has changed so much since the 1080’s and our new distain and ignorance toward the things of God is so prevalent in our society today.  I wonder if God will truly lift His hand of protection from our nation and allow such devastating incidents to actually happen.  In the documentary, it was stated that many, many close calls happen each year involving nuclear weapons.  We are so fortunate that up till now, God has not allowed a true disaster to occur in our country.  However, as more and more of our citizens refuse to acknowledge a living, loving, creator God; I wonder if that will change as God lifts His hand of protection from our nation.  A nation who in the past few years, has proven an enemy to God’s people of Israel and a support of nations who hate both Israel and the United States.

Fanning the flame?

Today Lord, I come to you, asking for forgiveness and Your help for myself first.   I was gently admonished today by a non-believing friend and reminded that words are divisive.  Of course its not something I was unaware of and I definitely agree that words can both help and hurt.  It seems like in our world of today, not only is there a battle of spirit, mind and body, but certainly that of words too.  I think a wide-spread disease that runs through our society of today is “diarrhea of the mouth”.

There are 84 verses in the Bible about the tongue and most of them have to do with the words that our tongues form and let slip from our mouths. Continue reading “Tuesday, November 22, 2017”

For those who live without the Light

Today I have to pray for certain things as it is a very special day in the life of my family.  Today, my only daughter and my son-in-law will be commissioned to go to the mission field.  This is a dream of my daughter’s since her Junior High years and her husband shares that dream with her.  They have worked very hard to reach this point.  It has been over a two-year process in training and gathering the support they require to serve as Wycliffe Bible Translators in Pappua New Guinea.  They will be serving a tribe who has been begging for a translator for some time now.  These people desire the Bible in their own heart language and have been waiting a long time.

We, here in the US are so lucky that we have Bibles in our language and even many translations available to us.   Yet still we tend to ignore God’s Word to us. Continue reading “Sunday, November 13, 2016”
