Who am I and Why I created this Blog

You might ask, who is the person who created this blogsite and these prayers?

My name is Shirley Dawson,  I live in Bella Vista, Arkansas among the beautiful hills of the Ozark Mountains.

I am a born again Christian (since the age of twelve) and I believe personal, fervent prayer is one of the most important things we can do in serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

During the long campaign period for the 2016 election, I became extremely concerned about this election and its effect on our nation.  I have been convinced for years that our nation is headed in the wrong direction – away from God and what our Founders had intended.

My worry and anxiety became so heightened that I was sharing post after post – all conservative ones  and many negative towards the liberal democratic candidates.  I was involved in many debates – some of them a little heated, although I tried to maintain a presence that was not mean or rude.  My stress level was pretty high.  My husband and my family was worried about me.  One day my daughter talked to me and told me that all my worry and anxiety was from fear and God does not give us the spirit of fear.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  2 Timothy 1:7

When she said that – it hit me hard, I realized how correct she was.  I WAS very afraid and in fact, living in fear.  I know that as a child of the King, I shouldn’t be.  So I agreed to stop posting frantically and instead pray and share my prayers on my Facebook page.

I had seen so many prayers answered in my own life and that of my missionary daughter and her family (Wycliffe Bible Translators) that I know God does answer prayers and sometimes in ways we cannot even imagine.  I set aside my fear and began praying for our nation, sometimes several times a day and sharing my prayers.

Many of my Facebook friends began praying these prayers with me.  When the results of the election began coming in on the television channels I and my husband were watching on November 8th, I was not shocked or surprised like I saw from many of the mainstream media personalities.  I knew my God was a mighty God and answered the prayers of His people.

I resolved that night that I would continue praying for Mr. Trump, Mr. Pence and his new administration and for my nation.  I am handicapped and because of severe spinal degeneration, I am in a wheelchair.  There are many things I cannot do for my Lord, but prayer doesn’t require walking or traveling or anything I cannot do.

I created this website to continue to share my prayers (hopefully daily) for my nation, the USA and its leaders and peoples.  You are invited to visit this site and join me.  May God bless each of you.
